I don't think you overpaid for your EG 8 or 9 years ago. In 1996 I paid $169 for an excellent 64 EG with the x'ed out LSA.

It would be interesting to find out what others paid for their EGs and Bulgies about ten years ago (seems like a good anniversary number).

Yeah, as they say all the time on another forum I visit, "These are tomorrow's good old days."

My 2001 Mak purchases:
Bulgarian, new in holster with matching mags - $139
East German, excellent with matching numbers (but not mags) in box - $159
IJ-70-18A, new unfired in box with mags, tool, manual on consignment - $125

Ah, the good old days . . .

Ok i am a new mak owner and have to question you on the good ole days price, What is the going rate these days for say, the IJ70 or bulgie? Lets say at a gun show IJ70 95% condition with extra mag? Just curious if i over paid or am pretty much on par.

ST's got the distributors and prices right GSP sold EG's for $99 and Dan sold some scratch & dent special Bulgies for $100. I've still got some of the old ads somewhere if I can remember where I put them. About the same time LVE greenbox was $100/1000 from Dan's and that included shipping if you were East of the Big Muddy. Dem was the good old days and if we'd only been a little smarter then.

makfever- you might want to check out makarov.com and Slim Tim's Mak Trader for a price guideline because gun show prices differ from region to region so it's kinda hard to answer your question.

Tennesseean- I believe it's never too late to be smarter. I recently ordered 500 rounds of Barnaul from Widener's and they sent me Wolf Military Classic by mistake. They sent me the correct ammo two days later with a return label for the wrong ammo. Then a recent post on the rising price of ammo and availability convinced me that ammo is not going to get any cheaper...not now, not in the future...never. To make a long story short, I've decided to buy the Wolf MC too.
