Its a bit complicated to explain,but suffice to say the past 18 months have been pretty miserable for legal firearms owners down here.But still nowhere near the level of misery they have to deal with in Japan....

In truth, you can have weapons in Japan, you simply have to spend at least 2000 usd in papers, and your request is severely analyzed and needs the approval of medics, the sheriff of your area, of all your neighbors, your family, have a safe for the weapon and another far away for a main piece (bolt) a book of each movement and each fired ammunition.. Detail ... First permit is only for shotguns , if you want a rifle, you can only access it after having shotgun license for 10 years. The people of Japan first suffered the oppression of their feudal lords, then the emperor and lastly the American occupation, which of course would not tolerate an armed society.

A bunch of used shotguns have come here from Japan....some really nice stuff amongst it.There were some great bargains there for astute buyers.

Interestingly my only shotgun, Winchester model 12, was purchased in Tokyo. It‘s a fine piece that has been reactivated to defensive service.

There was a few model 12 (or possibly model 25) winchesters in the shipment I saw here....an absolute ton of Rem 1100's and Browning A-5 recoil operated guns.
