This past week ABC News ran a segment [Person of the Week] about cameraman Norman Hatch that filmed the Battle of Tarawa in the World War II Pacific Theater.

Here's the web address for that tribute at the ABC-TV News website:

PBS-TV's "American Experience", this past week, ran a two-hour program on "Victory in the Pacific". You may be lucky enough that your local PBS affiliate may do a repeat broadcast of that program in the days to come.

But just in case it won't happen in your area, here's the PBS website where "Victory in the Pacific" can be viewed online:

The program covers the events, military and political, in the Pacific Theater in the last year of the war. I was impressed with the program! Equally impressive was that this was from PBS, which could have easily soft-pedaled the subject matter.
