i am open minded show me factory ammo at 19.99....locally or total shipped.
everyone in my area that dumped their gaps was due to COST OF AMMO.
(SO I TOOK MY OWN CHALLENGE..and i found 230/200 practice ammo for
16-18 bucks delivered...so it is available..just not here, it is all shipped)
and in one case...13.99 per box with free shipping on 20)
AND I DO NOT USE LESS POWDER TO MATCH ACP PERFORMANCE.

The GAP uses less powder because it's like when the ACP has set back and it causes psi to rise. Look up some data on it. It gets 40-50fps more on less powder because it's operating atma higher psi with less volume of burning powder. Makes for a nice soft shooter with less perceived recoil. Less powder, more psi, same speed. How long have you been shooting the GAP?

I find it locally same price as ACP. it's even cheaper than when I first replied how many years ago? If you want to know the actual facts on the topic, ask someone who has been shooting it years on end.
It might not be the best choice for gun ofthe month club shooters but it's in real life nothing like the speculators on the web cry about. Itshere to stay, it's going nowhere and it's more economical to shoot when reloaded over the ACP. just ask someone who's been shooting it for a long period of time. I will answer any actual questions you might have, based on facts, not emotions.
I was in a local pawn shop a couple months ago and a walking tatoo parlor walked in and wanted to sell his "baby" to make a rent payment. Turned out to be a Glock .45 GAP. They didn't want it for ANY price as they said they wouldn't be able to give it away. Now I know it's a pawn shop and that's part of their game, but they walked away and left the guy speechless, instead of haggling on a price. My only experience with the round has been when minimum wage clerks mixed up the few boxes available with .45 ACP and didn't want to exchange it after purchase. I don't see it surviving. This is 7 years after the original post and I'm not seeing much interest.
I picked up a G17 a few days after I got the G39 for a graduation gift. There was a dude in there trying to trade off a gen 2 G17 and they told him nope, no trade for that. They didn't even make an offer to him or low ball, they didn't want it. I had to wait for him to get done being butt hurt before I could be helped. Trying to get rid of aused Glock at any FFL dealer is tough unless you want to give it away, new ones can be had for little more than used ones.
Try 7.0 grains of longshot with a Winchester small primer and a 200 grain XTP. it's a freezer filling load and I get 1000 rounds per pound. Slightly less and I'm still over 950. Longshot is dirty in ACP but I get no unburnt powder left over and it's very clean in the GAP loads.
the difference in clean and dirty is the burn pressure which is higher in gap..just means it is a poor choice for acp.
i only see 900 fps with that load in quickload...so what is your oal.
a 38 is my carry gun..so i like gap.

no, it is correct.
that data is for a 5" bbl,
and for a gold not not an xtp
you have a 4.5" ,you do not have 1000.
it is also a test bbl not a gun.
my guess is you have 950 or less..based on the 22300 psi listed
my loads are tuned for my gun and my bbl length.
as stated, i get 1000 fps(actually 998 ave) with 200 gr
xtp's from the 4.1"bbl in my 38, and 900 fps with practice fmj's.
measured with my ohler 35p, will check what the labradar
says when my 200 gold dots get here.
as to your earlier question i have been shooting and loading for
a long long time. while the gap is new, 45acp is not.
i had a solid base to work from
as to recoil, if you shoot a 45 gap 200 at 1000 fps from
A 4.5" 37, the recoil will be nearly identical as shooting a 200
at 1000 fps from a similar sized glock 45 acp( weight close to the same).
the gap recoil will "feel" harder because of the higher pressure.
both will feel less than the snap of a high pressure 9mm or 40S&W.

its been my experience that I lose 4-11% velocity with the gap per inch lost. I typically get more velocity out of XTPs vs gold dots. The Glock rifling helps too. Lots more blast from the shorter 39. When I put my 6.8 grain load on the screens it was 975-980. 7.0 gets a touch more.
Longshot is is an excellent GAP powder. Best I've used and don't use anything else much anymore. It favors heavy bullets. 185s move out with the same charge not much faster and 230s aren't much slower.
Dream world is 200 fps loss per inch of barrel lost. Or 100 fps lost for the 1/2" shorter bbl.
its more like like you're making up figures and not thinking about it before you post made up figures. Have you loaded 7.0 grains of longshot with a 200 grain XTP?
Lmao, 200fps lost per inch. Your made up figures are almost right for the G39 though. Nowhere near the G37s.
The (new) ammo is too expensive theory is debunked. Some dude says the best reloading powder for GAP is 20% slower than factory loads
some guy said come back in 5 years early on. 7 years later and it's caught on more. Nowhere near staring to die. I'll come back in 5-7 years and update you again. My G37 will have factory ammo available longer than this board will be around. Cold hard facts of it.
