Mein liebes Rosalchen!
Heute deinen lieben Brief N° 233 erhalten und zwei Päktchen N° 231 u(nd) 232 habe mich sehr darüber gefreut u(nd) sage dir vielen Dank dafür. Es tut mir leid dass du liebes Herzchen wieder keine Post erhalten hast, ich habe aber jeden Tag geschrieben, hoffentlich hast du inzwischen Post erhalten. Das grosse Paket habe ich noch nicht abschicken können da muss man allemal erst laufen nach der Bescheinigung, wenn ich dass gewusst hätte, hätte ich die Büchsen einzeln geschickt. Da habt Ihr also fast keine Schuhe in den Laden und bekommt auch nicht gross was herein, jaja es wird eben alles alle, und immer noch mehr Feinde. Meine Hausschuhe sind soweit noch gut soviel ich sie jetzt anziehe.
Inder Hoffnung dass es Dir lieben Herzchen unsern kl(einen) Walter den Eltern Else u(nd) Walter gut geht grüsst u(nd) küsst Euch Euer Karl.

Mein liebes Herzchen!
Heute bin ich nun wieder von Wache gekommen, da habe ich allemal ein paar Stunden Ruhe und Zeit zum schreiben. Das glaube ich wohl, dass du liebes Herzchen jetzt viel Arbeit hast oben und auch unten sein und dann auch noch ins Gras, und dan auch noch die Lauferei mit den Fleischkarton u(nd) s(o) w(eiter). Mit deine Mutter geht es also noch nicht besser, ja eine Verstauchung ist langwirich, hoffen will ich, dass es Ihr wieder bald besser geht, schon um deinentwillen, damit du liebes Herzchen wieder etwas mehr Ruhe hast. Nach Georgenthal habe ich einen Kartenbrief geschrieben. Ja mein liebes Herzchen wenn ich doch wieder einmal bei Euch sein könnte, ich glaub wohl, dass unser kl(einen) Walter immer drolliger wird, ach könnte ich doch erst wieder einmal bei Euch sein, aber nun da Rumänien noch anfängt da wird der Urlaub wohl sowieso wieder gestrichen werden. Da sind sie allemal schnell dabei, vorläufig ist ja überhaupt kein Gedanke, dass ichwelchen erhalte bei 70 Gesuche. Doch darüber nicht nachdenken, sonst ärgert man sich allemal, doch für heute Schluss.

Today I got your dear letter number 233 and two parcels numbers 231 and 232, I enjoyed them a lot and say many thanks to you for them. It saddens me that you dearest little heart have not recieved any mail once again, still I have written every day, I hope you've gotten mail again in the meantime. I've still not been able to send the large parcel, then one has to run around for the permitsd, if I'd have known that I would have sent the cans one by one. So you also have almost no shoes in store and can also hardly get more in (Does his father run a shoe store?) , well all runs out, and always more enemies. My house shoes are so far good so far as I still put them on. In the hope that you dearest little heart, our little Walter, the parents, Else and Walter are fine your Karl greets and kisses you.

Today I've once again come from watch, then at least I have a few hours of calm and time to write. So I really believe that you dearest heart have lots of work both high and low and then also in the grass (Harvest?) and then also the running around with the meat crate and so on.Also your mother is not better, yes twisting the ankle will hurt a long time, though I hope that she will already be better, though for you, so that you dear heart will get more rest again. I've written a card letter to Georgenthal. Yes my dearest little heart If I could only be with you once again, I belive that our little Walter gets ever funnier, oh if I only could be with you again, but now that romania have started (attacked us.) then the leave will anyway again be cancelled. They are fast to do that, for now there is no thought of that, that I will get any leave out of one of 70 applications. Though do not think about that, that only leads to aggravation, though for today it is ended. I also think that his parents-in-law (or his parents) have a shoe shop and less goods are coming in.
"In the grass" does also mean to me that his wife helps with the harvest, but probably only hay, for the cows as winter food.
