Understandable enough, Well done Big Commander!
Poginki, the 28th of August 1916
My dearest little Rosa!
Today for once I got nothing from you dearest little Rosa, that makes one completely unfit, once one is used to getting a letter every day, well I hope that I'll get something tomorrow and I hope that you are all ok. Now I'm again standing watch, then we are expected to work in our spare time too. Building a guard house, it gets ever better. On sunday we worked outside the entire day, a house is to be built there to serve as a collecting point for conquered stuff, that was my sunday. Now Italy has declared war on us, and they say also rumania. If one thinks it goes towards the end, then all of them fall on us again, why once again, my dearest little Rosa, just don't ask me again about the leave, people here get irritated by it, yesterday the company commander was told that noone are to ask for leave from him anymore, he will pick those who are to get leave himself judged by how large their farms are, that means I could wait a long time. In the hope that you dearest heart, our little Walter, the parents, Else and Walter are fine your true Karl greets and kisses you a thousand times.
Many greetings to your father
