During the move of the Gunboards the "Restaurant chez Karl" stayed open as usual. The addresses of his wife and himself have not changed.

Mein liebes Rosalchen!
Viele Grüsse an deine Eltern (last line on 1st page).

Here's my first take on the text.

My dear little Rosa!
Today I got your dear letter number 225 and two parcels number 222 and 223, I enjoyed them very much and say many thanks to you for them. That Walter has aleady been here, that is perfectly possible as the 133rd get their rations from here, they are also billetted not far from here, then he has probably had something to do with his batallion (as we know from earlier correspondence Walter was wounded so severely that he was almost declared "garnisonsfähig", unfit to fight, and was then posted with the staff), hopefully he'll come, if he is back in Kowel, one time here, if we are still here then that is of course the question. Fritz Rot and Graf are once again on leave, yes they are really lucky, though do not count on it to be certain that I will get to go on leave as there are so many applications from large farmers that are given first priority. The cherries tasted very good, I had no way to heat the cauliflower, but the beans and the meatdumplings with the last cauliflower. Do not send cigarettes at the moment, until I write for some again. Anyway I cannot find out about the application, then I had to ask, and then I was told to wait until they get to it. In the hope that you dear little Rosa, our little Walter, the parents, Else and Walter are fine your true Karl greets and kisses you a thousand times.
Many greetings to your parents.

My dear little Rosa!
Today I got your dear letter number 225 and two parcels number 222 and 223, I enjoyed them a lot, and I thank you very much for them. It is certainly possible that Walter is already here, as the 133rd get their rations from here, and they are also billeted not far from here, but he is probably busy with his battalion, so hopefully he'll stop by if he is ever back here in Kowel, but of course the question will be if we are still here.

Fritz Rot and Graf are once again back home on leave, (yes they get all the luck), but don't count on me being able to go on leave soon, because there are so many applications from the large farmers that will be given first priority. The cherries tasted very good, but I had no way to heat the cauliflower, so [I ate] the beans and the meatballs with the last cauliflower. Do not send any more cigarettes for now, until I ask for some again. I was unable to find out anything more about the application; I did ask, but was told to wait until they can get to it. In the hope that you, dear little Rosa, our little Walter, the parents, Else and Walter are fine your faithful Karl greets and kisses you a thousand times.

Many greetings to your parents.
