Well, it was in the cards, he was 92. But still - absent comrades indeed. I'll lift one in his memory.

Great Loss!
I've been lucky enuf to have met and talked to him twice. The Flying Tigers have had their convention here in Colo Springs a couple of times.

Memorial service at 1:00 today, Alamo Heights United methodist. Will try to get by and show my respect. Burial at Ft Sam Houston afterwards.

Suitable location. If you haven't ever attended an interment at a national cemetery - do sometime. You've seen the pictures. Doesn't come close to how it feels to be there (as we were reminded of in early 2005 when Dad was buried at the D-FW National Cemetery. And then Mom a week later...).
