I remember some not so great reviews about them from years ago. Anybody here an expert or fan ? I'm talking about the ones at the regular Gunboards dealer sites etc.

The current Tantals look very good, but only seeing them at gunshows makes it difficult to stick a projectile into the muzzle without causing a ruckus.

A local shop may pull the brake & perform a hilbilly muzzle/bore check with a live cartridge for you.



As to them keyholing, that should be a non-issue at this point. The barrel makers have their act together. How to id and avoid an older 5.56 barrel/build, I don't know.

if i recall correctly the serial number from century reflected the corrected barrel models, but i cant remember what it was, of course if you find an original kit built on a nodak receiver that would be my preferred preference
