List is not updated since March 2020. Updated list is available here. Plese check!

Sniper SVT's can be split at 2 groups
1) Factory issued. These are sniper rifles produced in 1941 and 1942 by plant #314 Tula\Mednogorsk. In this list I will track only these rifles, that have correct shape notch with flat bottom and rounded corners.
2) Field made snipers - these could be any SVT with factory rails and field made notch

Also, here are few links, that will help in verification of originaility of SVT scope mount

1941 Tula sniper rifles

Production period - March-October 1941
Produced quantity (source) :
March - 1012
April - 3015
May - 4106
June - 5013
July - 7600
August - 7500
September - 8000
October - 1760
Total - 38006

I have assumption, that all sniper SVT's produced in 1941 by plant #314 Tula, are grouped in letter prefixes, and have numerical prefixes less then 2000.
Most of them are additionaly marked with C mark at the righr side of the receiver, but some rifles don't have it

1942 Mednogorsk sniper rifles
Production period - January-October 1942
Produced quantity (source):
January - 2
February - 0
March - 310
April - 400
May - ?
June - ?
July - ?
August - ?
September - ?
October - 160
Total - 14220

Rule "numerical prefix less than 2000" is not correct for them. Regular and sniper rifles can be mixed in one prefix, but all known sniper rifles are grouped in few prefixes.
It is harder to gather information about 1942 SVT snipers, because they are more scarce, and I can't track 1942 letter prefixes from mounts - in 1942 only numerical prefix was stamped at mounts.
1942 snipers don't have C proofmark

Ratnik....thank you for making this effort. Happily my presumed "correct and original sniper" (still a refurb) falls into the prefix and S/N parameters you describe.

Can you post S\N of your rifle? If you don't wish to show it all, write at least prefix and first 2 digits.
New numbers in the list will make it more comprehensive

Just add 2 new serials, both have new prefixes - CA and TB. TB is last prefix in 1941 and don't have C proofmark, as 1942 snipers.

Ratnik...here are 2...one is mine...the other (non-refurb!) is from an auction that I failed to win.
Thank you! Hope that you will be a good example to others, and they will also share with serials

Here are three of the four I have had. All are 41 Tula, all have the C proof on the right receiver and all have original notch. I will look for the fourth serial as I cannot find pictures of it.

Not sure if it helps, but I have 1941 Tula ПБ 71## that has no rails whatsoever. According to Vic, there was a small batch of 41 Tulas that were rushed thru and skipped the step. I assume it happened after Operation Barbarossa had begun. Makes sense that sniper production would have ceased by this point as they were just trying to field anything they could.

I also track rails at all 1941 and 1942 Tula's. But I'm currently not ready to show my list. I attach scaled screenshot of my list, just to sow percentage of rifles with rails and without. Red cells - rifle without rails. More than 50% of 1941 rifles in my list don't have rails. Possibly it can be explained that many prewar 1941 SVT's were captured by Germans, and then they were lost.
Rails disappeared soon after war beginning to simplify production. But production of sniper rifles were not stoped, and was continued under october, when plant #314 was evacuated to Mednogorsk.
First subprefix without rails - MX xxxx. Before there are 6 subprefixes with rails - AХ, ВХ, ГХ, ЖХ, Их, ЛХ.
Then goes 5 subprefixes without rails - MX, HX, ПХ, СХ, ТХ. In MX, HX, СХ, subprefixes some rifles with rails are observed. Possibly it can be explained with use of prewar issued recievers.

Ratnik,
Could you explain the significance of the notation "NIPSVO test rifle" that you use in your list. I am curious of the meaning.
Thank You,
Mark

NIPSVO KA (Научно исследовательский полигон стрелкового вооружения Красной Армии) - scientific research proving ground of infantry weapons of Red Army. Each quarter of the year they tested all models of infantry weapons that were produced for control quality purposes.
Serials were taken from their reports.
But this was not only proving ground - for example, in 1940, when mounts for SVT was tested, 1 mount was designed by Tokarev, 3 others - by NIPSVO.
Also in 1942, engineer of NIPSVO, Sudaev, created his famous submachine gun, PPS
