Thanks... looking to drop no more than about $200 if I can help it; may be unrealistic. There is a now defunct website called Gewehr43.com that endorsed a guy named Tom Edwards who charged between $40 and $100 , but his email has changed. I understand the stock won't look new. I just want it as correct as possible for display. Your description sounds like any true artisan... heard the same description for a guy in the Glouchester, VA area; he aint "fast and he aint cheap". Don't care about fast, but a repaired piece of wood is only worth so much to be before I just look at doing some swapping for a correct upgrade example.
