I need to fill a bolt handle cut in a stock blank I am using. I was going to fill the space with a walnut dowel and use tightbond III for glue. Any recomendations as to methods or materials would be appriciated
What is the stock? Ie is it on a antique or old military rifle? Do u want to retain it original appearance? Will u be refinishing the stock? Would need to know more before making a recommendation. Pics of the rifle would be great!!
It's just an old Fajan sporter semi inletted stock blank, I am putting a VZ-24 action with a .338-06 barrel in it. Appearance isn't all that important, the butter knife bolt handle covers the slot when it's closed.
