Anyone heard anything more about the new American made Steyr AUG copy the STG 556? Are they still having feeding problems? I went to their web page and they had a recall on the guns and mags. What are they selling for? They were supposed to be below $2K.

Check over on AK47.net

Looks like guys started receiving their rifles just two weeks ago.

I googled "MSAR STG 556" and happened upon links to the threads.

Called about the rifles today. They had a Shot Show promotion for the rifle with a case, knife, three or four mags for $2K. Now that they've released the rifles the price is up to $2.5K for the promo pack and the rifle by itself is $2.1K. Guess they have some Shot Show promo's left over they are trying to move.

You know it seems that with the cost of guns skyrocketing there is going to be less guns sold thus creating a sort of gun control. The Libs must be happy with the current market trends.

Plus 1 there.

Are the Dealers trying to put themselves out of business or is there just that much demand?? Seems like a decent pistol anymore is in the upwards to a $1000 range these days.

I'd say these guy's have spent a ton of money with the design, facilities and tooling to set up production of these. With the way inflation is now that's probably not an unreasonable price. It's just a little more than I would want to pay. If they were in the $1.5K range I'd be sorely tempted. The dedicated magazine also hurts it for me but, someone has a stock kit in Shotgun news that takes AR mags for about $400.00.
Maybe they will come down a bit when they get some of their money back on their investment. I've never shot one and would hate to pay that much to find out that I didn't feel comfortable firing the rifle.
