I had a guy bring a springfield xd subcompact into my shop to have the rear sight changed. Not a problem have removed 100's of rear sights. I pull out my trusty rear sight tool, clamp everything in place and nothing! This sight will not bulge!!! I've hit it with kroil and several other penetrating oils and I can't get it to move. Unless this subcompact sight is something special it should be just pressed in the dovetail. Anyone ever run across something like this? I just did a full size xd40 without a hitch not 2 months ago. Any ideas would be appreciated.

The sights on the XD are pressed, but they are super tight. I have heard that many shops will not touch them, they break their sight pushers trying to move them.
I changed a set on one of my guns a few years ago, chucked the slide in a heavy vise, punch and hammer and drove it off, but not without cussing, and some amount of fear.
Some guys put them in the freezer, use a press, lots of ideas, but bottom line they are TIGHT!
