EDIT: SOLD PENDING FUNDS

WTS: One Type 99 Japanese Arisaka.

$315 SHIPPED CONUS to your C&R/FFL. Money order preferred. No trades. Please email any questions and I will be happy to respond. Please post "I'll Take It" on this thread to secure. Please send funds within 48 hours. I will ship within 48 hours of recept of funds and C&R/FFL and email you with tracking information.

I am not very educated on these, so I will volunteer everything I know:

Mum is present, but looks like someone gave it a "one-time" with a file. There is no front handguard movement independent of the buttstock, therefore from the best I can tell, it is not "duffle cut".

Safety knob is knurled. Barrel is chrome lined. AA sights are present and have working side arms. Stock is in great condition with many little Japanese cartouches which are sharp and very crisp. Stock is original, not refinished, and retains a beautiful worn but deep rich look, which is what caught my eye on this item years ago. Everything appears to be very well maintained.

Cleaning rod is present. Monopod is present. Neither look to be sixty-years old, so I am guessing they are reproductions as I know are commonly available. Bolt parts do not appear to serially match.

I think the symbol on the receiver denotes Tokyo Arsenal, however I am not 100%. I do not know what "series" the other symbol indicates. No import marks or any other marking apart from original Japanese production marks on the stock and metal. Unfired by me.

Farmall, your "Quickfilepost's" aren't. So easy to attach, why bother with 3rd party sites? Anyway, would be interested, what history do you know about the rifle. I guess I am asking why you think some parts are repro. Thanks - Skid

Kokura 20th series most likely an assembly number rifle thats why the may not match. Bolt and receiver should match. Extractor and small parts if the same # are the assembly number.

Very sorry. I remember the old site would not upload pics straight from my computer. I now realize that this new platform will..

I'll upload...

I don't know for sure. The Mono-pod just looks to be in good shape. The screw attaching it to the pod-base looks real good as well. Both things made me believe it was new production.

As far as history goes, I bought it from a fellow in Dallas several years ago that was selling it, and another one that had been sporterized, on behalf of his father-in-law. He volunteered to me that the father-in-law was a WWII vet, however he did not indicate to me whether these were HIS battlefield pickups, or if he obtained them once state-side.

I'm almost afraid to admit this, but it came with an original sling that was dry-rotted stiff as a board. I tried to re-hydrate it enough to remove it from the rifle, but the leather disentigrated, tore, and I threw it away. I know....shame on me....

That's all I know..

Now that looks good, the reader can decide which and how many of the pictures to look at.

More pictures please

How about a close up of both sides of the pod spring and screw, and of the pod foot itself.

If we can confirm these are original, I'm interested.

Looks like the bolt and safety knob match. The ejector has some numbers on it but I cannot make them out.

Pics of monopod attached as well...

Farmall,
thanks for the picts. The pod is a repro, the grinding on the inside is the giveaway.
I'll pass.
