I just got a 1936 Mosin-Nagant 91/30 with no importation marks and no usual "made in ussr". How do I go about proving it is SCW?
Check the barrel in the area of the front sight for import mark.

Check sling slot liners. They should be of specific type to be correct for the period you are researching.

Check stock for Spanish mark.

I think that is it.

stock marks could be an MP8 or a flaming bomb similar to the U.S. ordnance mark. Keith

SK,

Does it have a blade front sight instead of a globe, plain wire hangers, handguard without metal end caps? Stock with crude inletting, as in chisel marks? Cleaning rod with straight cylinder for a tip, no knurling, crude slot? Ink stamped marks under the butt plate? Can we see some good photos?
