I picked up a few boxes of 1979 dated "SB" 7.62x51 ammunition as mentioned in this post:

Aside form apparently being non-corrosive, is this good ammo in terms of accuracy and reliability?

The gunshop owner told me it was Mexican because it said "Espanol" on the box!

I've found it to be excellent ammo. I won a postal matching throwing it downrange with an early Century CETME.

Pretty good ammo for me. No complaints after shooting a couple of cases. The US Govt. has purchased ammo From Santa Barbara when supplies of American production fall short.

I've seen reports of the green primer seal on their pistol ammo being a problem, but nothing on the rifle ammo.

That's great. Buying ammo one's not familiar with is always a gamble, but I bought all they had for $5/box so I guess I won this time. Thanks again.

Jonny: What caliber is that? I LOVE their Semiblindado (semijacketed) 9mm 111gr Police surplus ammo (red seal / boxer primed 1990s mfg). I still have about
6000rds of it left and it shoots great!

I think it was referring to the .380 that came in a few years ago.
