I recently picked up a Type 30 bayonet, in pretty good shape from Toyoda Automatic Loom Works. The only problem is some rocket surgeon replaced the grips with some sort of black plastic:

Anyone have an idea where I might find a set of original wood grips to put it back the way it should be?

Thanks.

It may be difficult to find even original grips that fit it correctly, with so many Type-30 handle variations. Just my opinion, but reproduction wood grips tend to stick out as obviously as the black plastic ones. I would just leave it alone and save towards buying another with proper grips.

Actually, it kind of was. I did an initial search on ebay, and didn't find anything, I tried again, with a few different search terms, and came up with a Ebay store of a guy in China selling repros of the grips, as well as all sorts of other WW2 era gear from Japan, Germany and the USA.

even the wood color looks good......................and these do not stand out like the incorrect plastic grips do.
