I got these photos from my friend who is a commander in the Moscow OMON when I was in Russia the last 3 weeks. Faces deliberately obliterated, and all were taken in Chechnya when he and his unit was deployed there.

Hope you find them useful or interesting.

Man, Vulch. Seems like you know all the right folks - I wish I could take a trip with you to Russia!

Looking at your pictures, I was surprised to see that Russia hasn't completely abandoned the AKM in favor of the AK-74. Do you have any idea what percentage of Russian forces still carry and use the AKM? I thought it was only made for export now (but am obviously mistaken about that).

Thanks for the photos, which are indeed very interesting. Any and all additional pictures would be gratefully appreciated!

Richard,

I will post armoured pics on the vehicles board down further. A few there too :) Plus some explosive pics etc.

I ASSUME because these guys are OMON (Internal Russian Military) that they are using older weapons systems.

As to the large calibre sniper, I simply cannot remember! There was a lot of vodka and beer in between pics :))
