Man, Vulch. Seems like you know all the right folks - I wish I could take a trip with you to Russia!

Looking at your pictures, I was surprised to see that Russia hasn't completely abandoned the AKM in favor of the AK-74. Do you have any idea what percentage of Russian forces still carry and use the AKM? I thought it was only made for export now (but am obviously mistaken about that).

Thanks for the photos, which are indeed very interesting. Any and all additional pictures would be gratefully appreciated!

excellent pictures, I also noticed the lack of 5.45 weapons, i'm assuming this is because these troops are police/internal security rather than army

any armoured vehicles pics?

regards

Richard,

I will post armoured pics on the vehicles board down further. A few there too :) Plus some explosive pics etc.

I ASSUME because these guys are OMON (Internal Russian Military) that they are using older weapons systems.

As to the large calibre sniper, I simply cannot remember! There was a lot of vodka and beer in between pics :))

ZASTAVA M-93 “BLACK ARROW” RIFLE:

EAA is proud to introduce the Zastava M-93 “Black Arrow” Rifle in .50 caliber BMG. This unique bolt action rifle is based on the classic Mauser action and was developed in the early 1990’s by Zastava arms factory in Kragujevc.

Features of the rifle include the following: Fluted heavy barrel with recoil reducing muzzle break, self leveling and adjustable folding integral bipod, back up iron sights, heavy duty carry handle, detachable 5 round box magazine, and quick detachable scope mount. The safety is located within the trigger guard and blocks the trigger when engaged. The Black Arrow meets the demands of the American sportsman and has a proud history.

Certainly not a Black Arrow. It's a semi... besides the fact that the Ruskies wouldn't never ever admit to using a foreign small arm.

Excellent picture!

All AKMs with steel or Bakelite mags. Would have expected to see some AK103s with plastic mags!

I wondered why no AK-103's myself. The guns pictured look like they're older...
