Hey just thought I'd let you know I found one load so far that should be a good hunting round with my K98 using this bullet -though I had to restock into After market stock to get it to be accurate! I bought a Coates polymer stock and dropped the action into it, had to do some minor fitting but hey it works and as you can see from the target (all in the black) it's a big improvement! I'm still going to try the IMR 4064 loads as well to see if I get anymore improvement! If I can't get it to improve it will be my 150 yard heavy brush gun!

with my 1939 "243" code K98, and IMR 4064, 200Gr Sierra Match kings, 42.0 grains powder / winchester primers, i consistently get 1.5" groups at 100 yards... try that out....

I would except I'm shooting cast! Everything over 1900 fps is very inaccurate! I seen the groups getting smaller as I reduced the load! Next loads are 36- 36.5gr IMR4064 should be right around 1800-1850 fps which seems to be the limit in this gun and bullet! Now my G98/40 love this bullet, as well as the Lee 175 gr cast. This K98 simplely hates the 175gr, it seemed to like heavy bullets as it shot 198 Priv's very well! Just want to shoot lead cast as they allow me alot more shooting- jacketed bullets get expensive after awhile!
