I recently purchased a SE MkIII and the extractor doesn't work. Apparently when you open the breech block you're supposed to be able to pull it back against spring pressure and the extractor moves with it. Mine won't pull back. I've removed the very small screw that holds the axis pin in place and tried to pull the pin out. It won't budge. So, can you drive it out with a drift pin from the other end or is there a better way to do it? Thanks.

I just dug out my winter project Snider with the same problem. Did you ever get the extractor to move?

It's probably just stuck due to hardened gunk. If the barreled action is off the stock, you can drift the block rod out, provided you remove the little screw which holds the hinge rod.
