I have a Chinese Norinco SKS from the 1980's. I took the bayonet off 15-years ago and it has gone missing. I bought another bayonet today and went to install it, and ran into a bit of a problem.

The screw for the bayonet just pushes through without screwing into the opposite side of the lug. There do not seem to be threads for the screw to thread into.

The sks came with a bayonet so what am I doing wrong here?

Many Chinese SKS's had the bayonet riveted on. As yours doesn't seem to have any threads I'd say it was one of those. Jon
