Any difference in accuracy between the two types of barrels. I assume both are rifled. Basically the chrome is just added to help resist corrosion, correct?

Yes both are rifled, really I doubt it matters much considering everything going on in and about a normal SKS (I think barrel/receiver fit matters much more). I would guess if a test was done scientifically a nonchrome barrel holds the edge in accuracy over chrome but it would be a small amount (all things equal).

Out of an SKS? You're not going to see any significant differences...at least I haven't with all of the ones I have owned.

Thanks to all who replied. I think I got the data points I needed.

Have a great weekend. Unfortunately, house repair activities keep me from going gun hunting this weekend.

I see no advantage in chrome bores using modern ammo but if you use milsurp corrosive ammo...THATS when chrome is an advantage to reduce the chances of corrosion in the chamber and barrel. Z
