Can anyone tell me about this? I have never seen one before so I picked it up.

You picked it up? Auction says reserve not met, in any case its a pre-DSM variation made by Simson a Jewish run co., later took over by the nazis, changed to BSW, 22long is commmon on these while their DSM-34 reads 22 lang, Simsons are high quality, the plaque adds value if real as they are faked as well as HJ, SA stampings on stocks. BTW you should have posted this in the 22 section.
