For the past few years, we have been holding a monthly benchrest match for as-issued military rifles. These matches have provided a very good venue for shoulder-to-shoulder competition with military rifles of all vintages (no foolin' !), and the record of results is available at the following web page: http://members.cox.net/azshooter/
The web page and the matches are hosted by Jagdpanzer, and the results up through August are posted. Check it out!

October match results...

are up on Tom's web page. Very nice day and good turn-out. Joe Paull upheld his reputation for dragging out the oldest, oddest foreigh junk (and doing very well with it!) with his Swiss Peabody - his sighting group scared the rest of us badly (50 with 2x), but the match results were disappointing (to him).

Here in Pheonix, we have a monthly match at Rio Salado range called the C&R or old bolt match. 200 meters, 80 rounds, as issued. They do allow M1's but only a few. We see every kind of bolt action mil-surp you can imagine.

For oldmaster:

Sounds like fun! But, if you take a look at Tom's match results reports, you'll see that not many of our shooters shoot anything but bolt guns, either... but I don't think you'll find any matches in which such a wide range of types and vintages (including single shots) of rifles have been shot shoulder-to-shoulder, or with such good results.

December '07 and january '08 match results...

are up on Tom's web page. In a prime example of poor judgement, I (we) had been advising the HalfFinn (Joe Paull) that if he'd only bring a rifle made in the 20th century to the match, he'd likely win ... he did and he did. Ouch. Check it out!
