Noticed quite a few really pretty militarty stocks shown in the past. Seems a few tiger striped wood stocks made it through about every production line. My best looking military stock is a Danish M1 Garand replacement with great stripeing - unfortunately don't have matching handguards. So my best is this unissued "US" marked Kimber .22 match rifle from the CMP.

Probably not the most beautiful stock out there but still, some pretty striking tiger striping. Especially since it's a 1953 T-53! Most Chinese wood I've seen is pretty plain looking.

My humble rifles have some wood figure, but are not near as beautiful as the others have posted - I will hold out on buying any other M39's or Swede M96's till I can find one or more in stunning stocks...

Unfortunately, the pictures don't do it justice because the lighting in my apartment is The Suck Incarnate. However, if you look REAL close, you can make out the tiger-striping:

Great thread! There are some fantastic looking rifles here. You can't beat a nice stripey wood milsurp!!

To add my own little submission to this fine "gun porn" thread:

Don't have all the photos I used to have, but here goes:
1. 1942 Izhevsk M91/30 in post-war laminate stock. I think it's pretty.
2. TOZ 17 .22 repeater. LOVELY beech stock (not the usual birch these usually have)
3. FORMER rifles of mine: top is a 1937 S42 Kar98k, and bottom a 1941 Portuguese M941

My 1944 91/30 PU sniper has a really nice figured birch WW2 stock, but haven't a photo, and cannot find pics of my Swede M38 (Carl Gustaf M96 conversion) with tigerstripping to butt and handguard.

EDIT: the TOZ stock is actually orange-red - I got the tungsten light and blue background POORLY, and it made it cold. MUCH prettier than that!
