You posted this five hours ago, and still haven't added pictures?
Shame on you?;)

Seriously, congrats on a nice find. You must do some serious searching to acquire all those great rifles.

The purchase of guns here requires the transference approved by RENAR (like the ATF), so only once the papers are cleared the seller can deliver the gun to the buyer-I'll post the pics as soon as I have it-

I got the rifle, pics below, the only thing that I see for the first time on a Mauser is the legend "Made in Germany" that doesnot appear in any of my other pieces-

Very nice , Raul.

As for the "Made in Germany" stamp, weren't a lot of the sporter .22's from the '30's intended for export to the U.S. and other countries?

I know it was common practice to stamp the "Made in Germany"legend in all the guns destined for export, but its the first one I see on a Mauser 22, I've got a pretty Diana air gun cal .177 made in Sept. 1939 that carries the legend "Industria Alemana" in spanish. If you ask me how I know when the Diana was manufactured I'll give you my secret, fine air guns made in Germany before the war, most of them, carried the month and yr of its production stamped on the buttplate-

Very nice!! I wish I could stumble into such treats as well as you do.
Happy New Year, -a.

I agree to some extent on your wish, Aeisir. But the very successful collectors like Raul and some that I know work very hard at visiting shops, flea markets, yard sales, etc., to find their prizes. They really earn their collection. But I imagine you know that.:)
