Did a (possibly stupid thing), I didn't have my reading glasses on and bought a M-44. What I thought was a MO mark was the prefix to the serial No. {MO51693}. I thought the MO51 was the Ministry of defense mark, DUH, The rest of the carbine has the MO prefix on the other parts.
I guess the old gray matter may be turning to cottage cheese, DUH.

Well everyone makes mistakes. At least you still have a nice little carbine.

That seems like a high S/N for a carbine. Have you put your glasses back on yet? What's the date?
