Beaten to the punch by Japan in the Sino-Japanese War in 1894 and the Russo- Japanese War of 1904.

And therefore kind of surprising Kim Il Sung and the Russians didn't see it coming.

The tide range at Inchon is ridiculous. Ships could pull in comfortably at high tide and be sitting high and dry at low tide. To support an amphibious invasion from there would be impossible. Of course Kim was wrong...
