I have a Chinese Security SKS where the bayonet was originally held on by a rivet. When I got the SKS the spike bayo was held on with a Chinese bayonet screw that someone had pushed into the hole. The bayonet had a droop to it.

I put in an original Chinese rivet and the bayonet still has a droop to it.

Are the spike bayonets held by rivets different from the screw held spike bayo's??

It's the lock ring part I think you need to switch out not the screw.

What is the lock ring. I looked on a schematic and I couldn't find it listed.

The bayonet holder that is attached to the barrel has no threads for the screw to grab it is just smooth inside. Any screw you put in there just turns. Didn't some of these SKS's come in with rivets holding the bayonet on instead of the more common thread screw?

The part with the ring that goes around the muzzle has the wrong cut on it's locking surface for the bayo lug.

I think some where along the line the original bayonet got seperated from the rifle. At a later point the current bayonet got put on. I'm sure the original one did not droop.

I have tried a couple of other spike bayonets on it and they all droop. Any idea where I can pick up a new "ring" or any other suggestions.

Buy blade and see if that works, I've had some success in dremiling the part to make it fit tight. I think the fix was removing metal off the rear of the part that slides into the bayo lug.
