Here's one I have---with Savage slings, the ends are always steel, mostly blued, but sometimes Parkerized like this one.
Ink marked with an "S" and a date.
Haven't been mass produced as fakes yet---maybe.

No problem, Will---the Logitech Webcam is the easiest way to post photos here. Fast and painless.
No luck on the Indian sling---I haven't got a marked one and have never seen one, either.
As for "C^" Canadian marks on Savage slings----I don't doubt it, but the four I've had did not carry such a mark, so it can go either way.
