Is the current version of the Enfield SA 80 simply a refurbished and modified older rifle,or are any of them newly made (or at least put together from stockpiles of existing parts)?.
Depends on Variant. There are four main variants that make up the SA80 family: the L85 Rifle, the L86 Light Support Weapon, the L22 Carbine and the L98 Cadet rifle. The family currently consists of two major models, A1 variants being the first issue weapons, and A2 distinguishing weapons which have undergone H&K upgrades. These later upgrades were to stop the problems found in desert terrain. No British army genuine issue has parts from other rifles, they simple get replacements. Hope this helps.

Ian M has a great video on the evolution of the A1 (an absolutely terrible gun) to the A2 (actually quite a decent weapon). As he says, H&K made so many "upgrades" that it is essentially a different gun from muzzle to buttplate; the two versions just look alike.

They are all refurbished older rifles though a lot of the rifle was replaced during the various rebuilds. The factories where they were originally built (in London and then Nottingham) have long gone and surely nobody in their right mind would want to manufacture a new batch of this very flawed design....

Are there still enough of these rifles in Inventory to meet the UK military needs,or at this point are other rifles being purchased as the Enfields must surely be getting on a bit and there must be some attrition of existing stocks of the Enfield?.

The much decreased size of the UK military in recent times means there are probably enough to see them out, as long as they don't start getting involved in another war (which, currently, might not be a zero chance). Not all of the first models were rebuilt, as they didn't want to spend the money.
When they do need more, they will probably purchase M16s of some variety

the L119s filtered into the system for use by select units have given the military recent experience with AR type weapons. Perhaps when the time comes, the MoD will just do more of those for general issue.
