Did they come with Adjustable rear sights and ambidextrous safety? The one I'm considering does (They both look factory to me), and I'm wondering if they were after-market or not?

The first series S&W's 59's had a hard time with hollow points. By the time the 3rd. series came out, example the 5906's all the bugs had been worked out and they would digest just about anything. At least this is what I have read. Also they were never known for stellar accuracy but mine is a pleasure to shoot. I have the 5906.

I have a S&W 59 and it works fine with hollow points but I did have to polish the ramp a bit with the dremel. The same mags work as extended mags in the Kel tec P11. The P11 makes an excellent back up gun.

i agree with gurn. i have a 915, and a 5906. totally reliable but not tack drivers. sold a 411 to a buddy, and gave my brother a 39, they were better in that department. still, i like smiths, but the autos won't hold a candle to the 19, 66, and 29 i have.

I bought a well-worn ex-cop 439 at a gunshow for $275 recently. Carried a lot and not shot much. An M39 was the first new pistol I bought many years ago, and always wanted it back. I figured the 439 was close enough, and cheap.
