I have read everything I have regarding the comments, thoughts and suppositions regarding the S/42K marked rear sight. My question is what actually does the S/42G marked rear sight mean?

The rear sights were produced by Mauser Obendorf in 1934 (K) and 1935 (G). A lot of them show up on 98m conversions.
