I recently picked up this post war Russian TT33. Looks like the date has been overstamped. Has anyone seen something similar to this? I swear I have seen it before I just cannot remember. Looks like a 1937 under the markings.

Pistol is all matching with a pretty frosty bore.

Intriguing TT33.
Do you have a photo of the top of the slide with the serial and date?
Is it all matching numbers ?

Nice TT33. Pistols with the date overstamped show up from time to time, but they are uncommon. I have not seen a explanation for the overstamping in the literature. Your pistol is a post war TT33 made at Izhevsk.
