I must confess, I bought my SVD back in '95 NIB when they hit the market (J&G Sales) and have only shot 2 boxes of 7n1 in order to sight in the scope. It's been a safe Queen ever since. I plan to start shooting it when I move so all this information is extremely helpful. I appreciate all of your input, some great advise. Thanks all.

I would be happy to take you over there if you are.
We are the only one I believe in Florida with a 600 yard range. We also have a nice 200 yard range.
Might be fun to stretch the legs on your SVD.
