I know this is a typical Spanish-made Ruby pistol. An old family friend gave it to me just before he died. He was a taxi driver in San Francisco after WWI, and carried it for protection. It carries markings as follows:right side--Spain 238; left side--CAL 7.65 AUTOMATIC PISTOL MILITARY. I'm familiar with the history of the Ruby pistol, I am curious if anyone can come up with a manufacturer or more definitive manufacture date than WWI for the French army. Maybe this is just one of those made by a cottage manufacturer.

Appears to be one of the Ruby types made immediately after WWI for the commercial market. By the way, those are not original grips - they are off a 1911 Colt.
