One of the side benefits of finding a true Mark-I stock for my Springfield was that I could then pull the RIA furniture off the Mark-I and place it where it looks much better - Reunited with my original finished Rock Island 1903.

Oh, and I also took some pics. Enjoy them, and thanks for looking.

It now has that "righteous" appearance in almost every way. However, I would recommend swapping out the Smith Corona O3A3 safety and bolt housing with an earlier unit (the unique machining contour gives it away).

Well, it took a little while, some resistance to temptation, and some sound advice, but I did spend $25 at a gunshow for a nice straight handled bolt body. It is in original bluing, at about 75-80%, and I swapped out the SC housing. C-4 steel lot code, circa. 1915. Thanks for the prodding, Alkali.
;)

I was intent on finding a NS bolt at first, and came close to buying a couple of sketchy conditioned parts for BIG money. After running the possibilities by Rick The Librarian, he convinced me to get something that compliments the gun in wear and finish, to start, and upgrade when the opportunity arises. He was right, it looks far better now.

Please excuse the poor lighting, but I'm sure you'll get the picture.
