This one is a Type 99 rifle that grandpa sporterized also (He did the Type 38 also). (Sporterizing. How to convert a Expensive collector item into a low value deer rifle.)

In addition to the cut stock and missing front band, the rear sight ladder is missing also.

It's almost as bad as giving an 8 year old boy a wood burning set! ( you younger fellas might not know what that is, but I do, and can still show you the results on some Lionel train cars :>(

What would the selling price range be in its current condition?

I am well aware of the consequences of sporterizing. I always believed in maintaining history. If you want a deer rifle, buy one:)

I also remember the wood burning set, The best part was the smell of burning pine!!
