Most turks use a small ring thread pattern so it probably wont fit.

See http://www.turkmauser.com/

Yugos are intermediate length and the mag box should to be lengthened for the .30-06, also true of many other 8mm mausers. You can thin the rear of the box a bit, but cutting into the front and extending the loading ramp into the lug recess area of the receiver is a BAD idea.

You are going to discover that building a Mauser sporter of commercial quality will be a very expensive proposition. For starters once the barrel is installed it has to be finish reamed for headspace unless you are very, very lucky.

the belgian m89 is small ring & a barrel threaded for it would be suitable for use on a turk asction. yugo's have standard l.r. threads but are safety breached & require an extractor cut on the barrel shank. if you swap the yugo bolt for a fn intermediate bolt you can do away with the extractor cut & use standard pre-threaded & short chambered barrels.

if you only plan on building one rifle it's expensive but you may enjoy the building process. i've done alot of sporterizing & aquired most off the tools i need & can definitly say its cheaper for me to build what i want than try to buy an off the shelf rifle that i wouldn't be happy with.

That's what I assumed. The M89 was about the same as an Argie M91 and that's the designation most folks would use because M89s are VERY scarce.
