I got this bayonet with my ishapored 1920 Lithgow(pics will follow when its in top shape). I could not find any info for it on google so maybe you guys could tell me some history about it.

it reads as shown in the pictures

G.R.I.
MK. 2
RFI

the numbers 11 and 43 on both sides of the markings and 10 on the handle.

Looks like a Mklll with the squared handle.
The Mkl , Mkl* , Mkll and the Mkll* will have a rounded handles identicle to the P'07.
Mkl 's are cut down P'07 bayos ( from any manufacturer)
The bayo's with the star ( * ) should have a false edge on the tip.
It's not uncommon to see the stampings on these all screwed up.

A Mkll*

It's been 'ponced up' by plating. (For parade use?) Should be blued.

It has a crappy sliver coating thats peeling off and its pretty much gone. do you think I should cold blue it?
It is entirely up to you but my view of 'antiques' is that, as far as possible, they should not be refinished. To me, a nice patina is better than an as-new finish; it gives the piece some age and history.
