I'd be interested in hearing Ret.Marine's version of how his scam went down.

In March Mike posted about needing a M1 Garand for an honor guard. I have donated many Garand parts to veterans organizations and J.J. O'Shea's M1 for Vets, so I emailed him and asked if needed any parts for his group, the "Cadillac Honor Guard". Mike replied that he needed an op rod, and I sent one for free, priority mail. All I asked for was a letter saying that I donated the op rod to a non-profit. Mike agreed to send the letter. Well after many emails promising a letter, guess what?-Nothing. I hope at least the op rod went to a veteran's group, but I have no way of knowing that. I have saved every email between us, including the ones in which he promised to send the letter, and the last one that I sent him, which said that he had one week to send the letter or I would post negative feedback here about him. If needed I will post those here. "

I just purchased a rifle from ret_marine2003 in Nov 08 and the deal went smooth. He gave a me great deal and added some extra magazines for free. He even took the rifle out and test fired it for me to check for canted sights, rough trigger, wobbly magazine etc. (common problems with AK's) before I agreed to take it. It seems his explanation in the link is valid. Have you looked at all of the good feedback he has. You may want to check that.

Scamming people??? It was a donation to a non-profit and it makes sense they only meet once a month, and makes sense he would need to wait until the meeting to get the letter.

Sounds like that would be a real profitable scam .

That complaint was posted months ago and the explanation reasonable, no further complaint posted since then so BR has shown that he'll clutch at mighty slim staws to try to run down and denigrate those who don't agree with him.
