can anyone recommend a good tung oil finish? I have called Behr and Masterchem and both #600 and truetone t-400 are unavailable in North America. The only t.o. finishes I haven been able to find are minwax and formby's. I've tried formby's and it's a bit sticky imho. anyone have any advice? thanks

"Tung oil" and "Tung oil finish" are two very different finishes. A "Tung oil finish" well have several additives, is generally a shinny finish in just a few coats. Pure Tung oil takes many coats to get the glass smooth semi-gloss look. Well worth in in my opinion.

Have you considered True-Oil ? I finished a Walnut stock with it and it turned out very nice, a deep low luster and if it gets scratched just go over it again. Just have to let it cure for 30 days for complete curing.
