Picked up a couple of RCs at an auction near here. The selling price fell into my frugal buying budget. (Just under 700.00 for the pair). They are both pic heavy so I'll post what I have on the first one and get back later with the other. First one is a real heart-breaker. Its in a completely non matching RC stock, some of the WaA are visible but not readable. The metal has me wondering. Was the waffenampt on the receiver pinged or just worn? Ive seen pics like this in other references. The bolt is all matching, it does have the 63 Wa on the underside of the bolt root. But, shouldnt the bolt for this rifle have the round ports? This one has the oval ones. The rear sight leaf is also match numbered. All other swasis are intact. The bore is perfect in this first rifle.

What makes you think that dou.44 2805k is an RC? Could it be a non-imported matching barreled action tucked in an RC stock? If it is RC then it is a couple steps above what we have been getting. I think that the final inspection Waffenamt on the top of the receiver ring is just poorly struck and a little worn. The Russians would have gone after the firing proofs before they would have messed with the E/WaAA80 (one would think anyway).

pisgah, et al: Thanks for the confirmation. I thought it might be just as youve confirmed. But with my luck, you never know. Guess Ill be checking with Mario and the various auction sites to see whats available as far as the right stock is concerned.

T,
My dou44 has the same strike as yours, can't read it. Nice rifle, and probably well deserving of a correct stock.

I agree that it is probably not rc and that the proof is not clean because of the die. It seems alot of the dou rifles in 44 look the same as yours.
Regarding the stock, I would look to mario also but good luck with that. I don't think a lot of dou rifles made it to the Netherlands in 44. I have never seen him list a 44 dou stock set and when I asked him if he had any ... he didn't. Your bands should be numbered also for a K block. Looks like a nice rifle and good luck getting a stock. Maybe try Mike (mrfarb) to see what he has or bobinohio.

I agree with AWard regarding 1944 dated stocks. I haven't seen any stocks that late come out of Norway. Watch eBay and the other auction sites for a laminated stock with cupped buttplate and lack of external markings.
