I recently acquired an RCBS lube-a-matic from a retired reloader... and... How the heck do I clean out all the old crusty bullet lube? On a different note... I met a fellow at the range last week that saves all of his .22 rimfire casings and melts them down for solid cast bullets. Has anyone else heard of doing such a thing? If so... Can the molten brass be cast in a mould for lead bullets? Sure seems like a good way to get the most out of what the rest of us throw away.

I hate throwing out unusable brass, it seems like such a waste. I imagine it could be melted down and reused a number of ways. I posed a similar question a few years back and was warned about the toxic fumes when melting brass.
I guess the best way to find out is to try.
