A MG08/15 "wall hanger" surfaced from an estate that had the chamber welded up and most likely the barrel welded to the receiver (not for sure) plus the bolt and easily removable parts are missing (maybe in another box, but probably not). The top cover, barrel jacket, flash hider, bipod and the shield on the left side (not a MG08 expert) are all intact.

1: Assuming the barrel is welded into the receiver, any legal issues (USA)
2: Any use for the remaining parts - or at this stage is just a "wall hanger"
3: Nominal value?

Thanks in advance
John

It is still considered a live machinegun in the US. The reciever has to be cut into three pieces with a certain amount of metal missing in each cut. Once it is cut up, there is certainly some residual value to someone, but no idea how much.

Reaserch first to see if it was ever registered (others on the board could help) Could be a papered dewat and as such it would be worth more money than parts.Good luck!

The LEFT side plate is the registered part. All the other parts have value. Lock (bolt) $400, feedblock $400, booster $200/400 (repros have been available), sheetmetal fusee cover (over spring on left side) $200/up and original bipod $200/up (repros currently available). DEFINATELY check with ATF to see if registered, worth $6000 and up as is.
