Bought this on a whim. Stock was heavily sanded, stock and metal don't match but parts match. Bayonet lug matches stock, but butt plate matches receiver. Bolt had mixed numbers but some matching on it. Floorplate, screws, etc match. Cleaned off the gunk on the disc to reveal WaA 26 which could not be seen before. Here are my questions so far:

#1: I know the O is for East on the disc, but anybody know what the number means? Anybody have a guess or research enough to find duplicate numbers or have a theory on what they mean?

#2: Upon checking out the bolt, I found the serial was etched on the bolt parts with the receiver's serial. Is that consistent with German repairs?

Man would it be nice for it to be able to tell its story. :)
