A friend of mine gave me a .310 cadet to sell online for him, it had this tiny piece of wood hanging from a string on the trigger guard and I asked him what it was for, he said it was the safety and went between the trigger and the trigger guard. Is this correct or just something somebody added. Thanks in advanced, Chuck.

Wonder when the Greener barrel was installed on the BSA receiver. Kinda goes with the "safety". Assuming this is the Cadet currently on GunBroker, that is.
