A friend of mine gave me a .310 cadet to sell online for him, it had this tiny piece of wood hanging from a string on the trigger guard and I asked him what it was for, he said it was the safety and went between the trigger and the trigger guard. Is this correct or just something somebody added. Thanks in advanced, Chuck.

Hmmmmm...... Now THAT would be what I call a primitive safety! And no, this one isn't original to the rifle! Excuse me while I try to stop laughing....
